Degree Program and Course Information
Doctor of MinistryThe Doctor of Ministry program is a professional degree program for pastors and those actively engaged in ministry. It is designed to sharpen practical ministry skills and enhance the academic knowledge gained from masterís level education. Course work is timely and relevant to the needs of those serving in ministry in todayís world.
Requirements for admission include a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent and three years of ministry experience. "Equivalency" is defined as a masterís degree in a religious studies program, and at least 82 semester hours of religious graduate study, including one year of a biblical language. If you are close to meeting these requirements, you can begin the Doctor of Ministry program while fulfilling the entrance requirements. Auditors are also welcome to take individual courses.
Requirements for successful completion of the Doctor of Ministry program include 30 hours of course work, which includes participation in eight 3-hour courses and successful completion of a major project, for which 6 credit hours will be awarded. Students must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 sale. Courses are offered in intensive one-week sessions, with two courses in the winter and two courses in the summer. You can proceed with your course work on a schedule that meets your work requirements.
