History Of The Seminary
New Geneva Theological Seminary was founded in 1993 in Colorado Springs, CO, with a purpose drawn from Ephesians 4:12 — to equip the saints for the work of ministry. The conviction behind it remains unchanged: sound theology must produce sound practice, and that training should be accessible to those God calls, where they are.

As the seminary has grown, so has its reach — including extensions in Fredericksburg, Virginia and Centennial, Colorado.
New Geneva International Seminary opened in Alexandria, Egypt, bringing confessional training to Christian leaders in North Africa. These international endeavors gave rise to New Geneva’s translation and digital resource efforts, developed for contexts where formal theological education remains unavailable. Dr. Dominic Aquila co-founded The Aquila Report — the leading independent news outlet for conservative Presbyterian and Reformed Christians in North America.
New Geneva has been led by three presidents since its founding. The longest-serving, Dr. Dominic Aquila, held the office for 24 years before transitioning to emeritus in 2025. Dr. Toby Holt serves as New Geneva’s third president, an experienced pastor with over 1.9M sermon downloads on SermonAudio.com.
New Geneva graduates have gone on to ordination in the PCA, OPC, RCUS, URCNA, and many other Reformed and evangelical bodies, serving congregations across the United States and internationally.

New Geneva is committed to the inerrancy, inspiration and authority of the Bible and we affirm the historic doctrines contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
Sound doctrine must lead to sound practice — which will, in turn, lead to the multiplication and revitalization of churches worldwide.
New Geneva Theological Seminary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry. Our mission extends beyond the classroom to serve the larger church through conferences and digital resources.
We believe pastors, churches, parents and leaders must preach and teach the full counsel of God. And to help them do so, we offer Biblical, theologically sound training to equip them for present and future ministry.
Academic Excellence
New Geneva Theological Seminary provides rigorous academic training rooted in the historic Reformed faith. Our programs are designed to equip leaders with the theological foundation necessary for faithful ministry.
We currently offer three primary graduate degrees: the Master of Divinity (M.Div.), the Master of Theology (Th.M), and the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (MACM). We also offer the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) to those looking to expand on their graduate studies. All of these programs feature a demanding course load categorized into three areas:
New Geneva Theological Seminary has a long history of academic excellence, with alumni serving in multiple denominations and institutions throughout the US. Our approach ensures that graduates are ready to lead and teach with both competence and conviction.
New Geneva (NGTS) is an affiliate member of ARTS (Association Of Reformed Theological Seminaries). Graduates of New Geneva have gone on to ordination in a multitude of reformed and evangelical denominations.
