To apply for a Master's-level program at New Geneva, you will need to submit a completed application form, official transcripts from your undergraduate institution (and any previous graduate work), and a brief personal testimony outlining your faith in Christ and your vocational or ministry objectives. Additionally, two letters of recommendation are required: typically one pastoral reference from a church officer such as a teaching or ruling elder, and one academic or professional reference.
New Geneva Theological Seminary operates as an independent, confessional institution rather than under the direct oversight of a single denomination. New Geneva trains individuals from across the church landscape, most often including Reformed bodies such as the PCA, OPC, RCUS, URCNA, and various independent and Baptist congregations. New Geneva is an affiliate of the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS).
Yes. New Geneva is designed to provide accessible theological training without requiring you to uproot your family or leave your current ministry context. All degree programs can be completed via distance learning. The Master of Divinity typically takes 3 to 4 years of dedicated study, while Master of Arts tracks can often be completed in 2 years.
New Geneva is structurally designed to provide an affordable, first-rate theological education, intentionally keeping baseline tuition at a fraction of the cost of traditional residential seminaries. Institutional scholarships are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, prioritizing students with demonstrable financial need or unique ministry contexts. Local sessions and congregations are encouraged to partner with their prospective leaders to help subsidize theological training. Scholarship applications are available upon admission.
New Geneva operates on a rolling admissions basis. However, submitting your application file at least 30 days before the semester begins is recommended to ensure your seat.
Yes. New Geneva is deeply committed to equipping the global church. New Geneva actively develops international tools and translated resources to assist students serving outside the English-speaking world. New Geneva currently operates an extension campus in Alexandria, Egypt. Prospective international students should contact the admissions office directly to discuss language proficiency requirements and the specific translated curriculum available for their context.
Yes. Course auditors are always welcome. Auditing is an excellent way for elders, deacons, Sunday School teachers, and everyday believers to benefit from rigorous Reformed theological training without the academic demands of exams, research papers, or degree tracking. Auditors gain access to lectures and reading materials. Please contact the registrar to learn how to audit a course.
Yes. Transfer credits are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Credits must be from a comparable, recognized institution and align with the academic rigor of New Geneva's curriculum. To request an evaluation, applicants must submit an official transcript along with their application. A minimum number of credit hours must be completed directly through New Geneva to be awarded a degree.
New Geneva's 2026–2027 academic year is organized into two full semesters (Fall and Spring) along with Winter and Summer intensive terms.
